From July 4 to 6, 2025, the NXT Gen Cup was part of the DTM support program at the historic Norisring – the only street circuit on the calendar, also known as the “Franconian Monaco.” The extreme temperatures turned the weekend into a real test of endurance for both man and machine.

Friday kicked off with free practice sessions, where Lennart Wolf had the chance to get to know the 2.3-kilometer circuit. But technical issues arose early: the electric motor had to be recalibrated – the first sign of problems that would plague the rest of the weekend. Still, Wolf finished 11th in the first session and 7th in the second.

In Saturday morning’s qualifying, the driver from Braunschweig set a 1:05.720 lap time, securing 9th place on the grid for the first race. His second-best lap (1:06.349) meant P13 for race three on Sunday.

The first race followed at midday – bringing the next setback: on the unfamiliar track, the “last lap” board was difficult to see, leading to a misjudgment of the race finish. A later video review confirmed that the sign had been poorly positioned. Wolf had to settle for 13th place. In the second race that afternoon, he improved to P8.

Sunday also proved challenging: starting from 13th due to his qualifying result, Wolf fought hard in race three but could do no better than 10th place. Persistent technical issues – in particular the limited output of the recalibrated electric motor and a push-to-pass system that only worked intermittently – prevented a stronger result.

In the overall standings, Lennart Wolf drops back to 7th place after the Norisring weekend. Looking ahead to the next round at the Nürburgring from August 8 to 10, 2025 – where cars will be reallocated – the team hopes for a more competitive package. After his strong season debut in Oschersleben, Wolf is eager to prove his potential once again.
